Cheap Tires = Low quality?

When people talk about cheap tires, do they mean those low quality tires that you wouldn’t want to risk your life on?
Is it necessary true that all cheap tires are low quality?
In some cases, that might be true. Generally, tires that are sold for a cheap price have some defects here and there whether they are visible or not. Either the treads are worn out, or the sidewalls are damaged and so on and so forth. This defects reduce the tires price since less people would want to buy tires with defect. It’s pretty unsafe using those kinds of tires on your vehicles as this can lead to accidents.
Cheap tires can also come from the fact that the tires are used and you’re not buying them brand new. Of course, something that is used will drop in price. Although used and cheap tires don’t necessarily mean that they are damaged, people tend to have a feeling that used tires are low in quality. You can actually get a set of ‘like new’ tires with cheap price, and although they are used, some of them are really well taken care of.
You can also get cheap tires by buying non-branded ones instead of the famous brands used by professional Formula 1 drivers. Although they are non-branded, some of them have exceptional quality, and certainly not the ones that are accident prone. It’s just the brand that makes vendors sold them at lower price.
Sometimes you can also buy branded tires with cheap price as well especially during festive season where dealers normally give out discounts and special deals. Now you tell me, are these low quality tires? Of course not. What about those tires that are sold in bulk for wholesale price? Those are branded tires as well and definitely high quality tires. Are they expensive? No.
So folks, when talking about cheap tires, it doesn’t mean that all of them are bad. If you look around and find a good deal, what you’ll get is as good as anybody else AND with lower cost than anybody else are paying. So try to find cheap tires AND high quality tires. They are definitely available out there.
